**The Opportunity**:

- The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 6 Event Manager within Commercial Operations Branch.

- As a member of the APH Catering and Events Team, deliver events and catering services at Australian Parliament House (APH) through an in-house service delivery model that provides a high standard of food and beverage service across all outlets and event venues to a wide range of stakeholders.

**Who we are looking for**:
You will possess a minimum of 4 years leading an Events team and have the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to provide products, services and information regarding event venues and catering services at Australian Parliament House. Ensuring that all sales enquiries and bookings in the event booking system, including financial processes are performed in accordance with DPS policies and standard operating procedures.
- You will thrive in the buzz of event co-ordination whilst managing an events team to deliver high profile events across multiple venues, ranging from 20 - 900 pax.

**Job Specific Requirements**:

- Minimum 4 years of Event Coordination experience
- Qualifications in event management and event sales
- Marketing or equivalent relevant qualifications and experience highly desirable Demonstrated relevant experience, preferably within high quality well regarded multi‑purpose venues
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

- Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- 1. Lead the Events team to process a high volume of enquiries and complex co-ordination of events. This includes promoting, negotiating, costing and coordinating high profile functions.
- 2. Provide leadership, manage, and develop the Events team.
- 3. Conduct Individual Work Plans, reviewing performance measures, facilitate recruitment, and implement appropriate staff training as required.
- 4. Identify, design and implement standardised and effective daily work processes and operational templates for Events team.
- 5. Ensure streamlined professional communication to multiple stakeholders, including parliamentarians, Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) event clients, commercial and other business areas.
- 6. Work with multiple stakeholders to facilitate work that relates to the effective delivery of services to and from Australian Parliament House (APH) Catering and Events.
- 7. Provide work in progress updates regarding standardised workflow and agreed best practice work processes within the Events team to Director of Catering.
- 8. Assist the Director Business Development with input into the policy, performance, governance and financial position of APH Catering and Events, providing reports and data analysis where required.
- 9. Other duties as required.
