**About the Role**

Reporting lines into the Head of Transitional Applications Decommission (solid), Head of Global Systems Integration and Head of Infrastructure, you will lead the Architecture function to ensure fit-for-purpose technology solutions are defined and made available to the business and are aligned to strategy, IT technologies and processes.

**Other key aspects of the role**
- Oversee the architecture, design and delivery of strategic IT initiatives on infrastructure and technology solutions and ensure their alignment to business needs, architectural principles and global standards.
- Identify, analyse and provide recommendations on new technological solutions and operations based on awareness of market trends, leading industry practices and upcoming technologies.
- Liaise and partner with leaders of business functions to understand and ensure that their requirements are factored into Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Solution design.
- Review proposals and new initiatives to make decisions on appropriate technology for the current landscape and future aspirations.
- Lead a team of solution and infrastructure architects, ensure availability and development of state-of-the-art skills

**About You**
- Extensive experience in the IT space in large Corporate/Financial Services organisation(s).
- Significant experience in systems consulting /solution design /architecture management.
- Significant experience in leading a team of technology professionals.
- Strong technical skills across the following areas - Infrastructure including workplace and security, Virtualisation, O/S, Database, Middleware, Application Servers, Java, JavaScript, Cloud platforms.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the IT landscape and upcoming technologies.
- Strong understanding of the Insurance industry and products.
- Demonstrated evidence of ability to partner effectively with business leaders to implement strategic and operational IT initiatives.
- AWS & TOGAF Certifications preferred
