**Key Purpose**:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in the Commercial and Export markets. You will resource and lead a sales team towards maximum profitability and growth in line with company strategy, vision and values and establish and plan strategies for sustainable growth whilst contributing to the development and training of Sales and Customer Service staff.

**Responsibilities**:
**Business Management**
- Commercial Sales; VIC, SA, TAS, NSW markets (others as required)
- Export; Japan (Ocean Trading), USA (WSG Inc) and other sundry export markets
- Develop a robust business plan and sales strategy for the above markets
- Development and implementation of marketing plans
- Provide regular feedback to senior management regarding performance against budget
- Together with the CEO & CFO agree on framework for pricing authority, to ensure margins are maintained
- Maintain accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by Account Executives
- Assist Account Executives in preparation of proposals and presentations
- Control expenses to meet budget guidelines
- Develop and maintain a functional Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to provide accurate and timely market intelligence

**Team Management**
- Responsible for the performance and development of the Account Executives
- Prepare action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects
- Conduct one-on-one reviews with all Account Executives to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Account Executive’s sales and activity performance
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure they are communicated and implemented within the team
- Recruit, test, and hire Account Executives based on criteria agreed upon by senior management
- Insure all Account Executives meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes
- Delegate authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up
- Set examples for Account Executives in areas of personal character, commitment, organisational and selling skills, and work habits
- Conduct regular coaching and counselling with Account Executives to build motivation and selling skills

**Other**
- Strict compliance with all company, industry and government governance requirements, including health, safety, environmental and legal
- Maintain a high level of understanding of horticulture, and growing media formulation
- Active involvement in and representation to relevant industry bodies (NGIA, NGIV, NGINA, etc)
- Critical input to Quality Assurance, together with the QA and Production teams
- Involvement in research & development as required
- Active involvement in growth opportunities, including new / modified ingredients and products, and potential mergers & acquisitions
- Maintain contact with all clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
- Demonstrate the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees

**About you**
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in sales management
- Experience with CRM, IT & ERP systems
- Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
- Industry experience in Horticulture and Hydroponics is desirable but not essential
- Tertiary qualification in horticulture highly desirable with specific technical industry skills
- Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams

**Salary**: $150K - $165K (depending on experience) plus super. FMCV or car allowance provided.
