**THE ROLE**:
The STS Taskforce is working with business and across all levels of government to deliver the most significant whole-of-government cross-border trade reforms in more than a decade. This includes working to make trade rules simpler and easier for businesses to comply with, digitising cross-border trade processes to be more efficient, enabled by modern ICT systems with improved data sharing, while strengthening border and biosecurity controls.

The work of the STS Taskforce supports the Government’s broader trade and digital agendas, including Trade2040. Our work will deliver regulatory, process and ICT systems reforms which will deliver value to both business and Government over the short, medium, and longer terms.

The Finance and Procurement Advisor role is within the Simplified Trade System (STS) Taskforce and supports the Finance Manager to deliver a range of financial and procurement activities. The role is responsible in providing financial and procurement advice, undertaking financial management activities, assisting teams with their procurement and contracting needs, and building productive working relationships across the Taskforce and Austrade. The successful occupant in this role requires:

- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and multiple levels
- Demonstrated ability undertake work with a moderate level of complexity and sensitivity under limited guidance
- Sound knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks and best practice

**Duties include**:
The Finance and Procurement Advisor will be responsible to ensure the procurement activities align with the Taskforce deliverables, budget, and governance structures. This will include:

- Provide relevant and accurate advice on budget and financial management, financial policy, procurement, and contracting matters.
- Undertake financial administration and analysis including financial and procurement reporting, forecasting and accruals
- Assist with internal budget development and maintenance, including mid-year review
- Assist the Taskforce in procurement and contracting requirements, undertaking audits to ensure compliance and improve data integrity
- Develop and maintain good communication channels with relevant stakeholders to facilitate and deliver on the requirements of the Taskforce
- Contribute to the team’s innovation and continuous business process improvement and identify risks and business opportunities.
