**Role**:
Learning Specialists will be highly skilled classroom practitioners who continue to spend the majority of their time delivering high-quality teaching and learning and have a range of responsibilities related to their expertise, including demonstration lessons, observing and providing feedback to other teachers and facilitating school-based professional learning.
- Learning Specialists are expected to have deep knowledge and expertise in high quality teaching and learning in delivering improved achievement, engagement and well-being for students.
- Working with and be a part of the school leadership team to develop a shared view of highly effective teacher practice and a review of existing programs and initiatives
- Leading and modelling the implementation of whole - school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery, and the support of others with strategies adopted.
- Playing a key role in the provision of professional learning, including through developing processes and protocols for observation and feedback of teacher practice and peer collaboration
- Modelling effective learning practice and supporting teachers to seek, analyse and act on feedback and on their practice

**Responsibilities**:
In recognition of the importance of exemplary teaching practice for improved student learning outcomes, the key responsibilities of the Learning Specialist may include but are not limited to:

- This role will include a PLC Leader role and a teaching load, the time fraction to be confirmed
- Promoting an understanding across the school of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Framework
- Build Grades 3-6 staff capacity in inclusion and wellbeing processes by embedding evidence-based strategies through modelling and professional learning
- Modelling effective inclusive education and supporting staff to seek, analyse and act on feedback with their practice, including adjustments to teaching and learning to support Tier 2 and 3 students.
- Acting as a source of advice for staff about differentiated teaching strategies, adjustments and modifications appropriate for individual students with additional needs
- Supporting staff to monitor, plan and assist in implementing cohort positive behaviour support strategies
- Proactively work with and support regional staff, school inclusion, wellbeing and leadership teams, teachers, parents/carers and other external agencies to coordinate targeted inclusion and mental health support for Grades 3-6 students
- Other duties as determined by the Principal

**Who May Apply**:
Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
