**The opportunity**:
Hunter Executive is partnering with an innovative privately owned engineering consultancy who are seeking a Hydrologist to help deliver a strong pipeline of work within their National Water and Flooding Groups involved in infrastructure projects across road, rail and metro specialising in surface water and flood risk management.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work on a range of products such as flood impact and risk assessment for major infrastructure projects
- Flood mapping for government authorities and agencies and urban developments
- Hydraulic Studies for the resource sector
- Undertake surface water investigations, flood studies, drainage modelling and associated reporting.
- The collection, compilation, presentation, and evaluation/analysis of technical and field hydrological and hydrogeological data.
- Lead drafting projects primarily based around rail, roads and highways
- Work unsupervised and take ownership of your projects
- Ability to work on large infrastructure projects

**The 'Ideal' person will have**:

- Diploma or advanced Diploma in relevant engineering course
- More than 4 years' experience in flood assessments, hydrology, and hydraulic modelling in consulting practices in Australia
- Experience in Rail and Transport infrastructure
- Proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation, and experience with the use of ProjectWise
- Two-dimensional TUFLOW hydraulic modelling experience and hydrology skills - WBNM, RAFTS, RORB or WBNM
- Understanding of flood policy, relevant legislation, codes of practice, regulations, and guidelines (Melbourne Water and VicRoads/Austroads Standards and approval pathways
- Comprehensive understanding of the principles of the Australian Rainfall and Runoff Guidelines 2019; incorporated with a familiarity with Local and State flooding legislations, policies, and approval pathways
- Involvement in major infrastructure projects
- Experience and/or relationships with relevant State agencies, such as Melbourne Water, Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland and Transport for NSW will be favoured
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines
- Strong Knowledge of GIS for Flood assessments including data management, processing and mapping
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and part of a team
