**The Project**:
Located in the small suburb of Kurri Kurri in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, approximately three km north of the town of Kurri Kurri, approximately 35 km west of Newcastle and 125 km north of Sydney.

The Hunter Power Station Project is two heavy-duty open cycle gas turbines, and is anticipated to be fully operational and anticipated by the end of 2024.

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical GTG Supervisor to join our Utilities business for upcoming major project based on-site in the Hunter Valley Region. Deliver high quality project services to the client and provide supervision and coordination as directed by the Superintendent / Construction Manager and the client. Obtain a complete understanding of the required contractual KPI’s and obligations. Ensure safe and effective operation of the project through sound communication, promotion of Safety and Quality Assurance, technical assistance and sound business practices.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**
- Min 10 years’ Experience in rotating equipment and laser alignments.
- Pressure testing, hydraulic tensioning, and flange management of high-pressure/ critical systems
- Gas Turbine installation and maintenance experience.
- Monitor contract terms and conditions and ensure adherence to these.
- Monitor and manage UGL employees and subcontractors to ensure professional standards are maintained.
- Ensure Apprentices are trained to competent levels.
- Undertake supervision of trade staff.
- Co-ordinate resources to fulfil project works to maintain schedule.
- Manage other Leading hands and trade staff, ensuring they are adhering to UGL’s procedures.
- Ensure full QA and HSSE documentation and systems are properly followed, ensuring Projects have adequate coverage and support
- Ensure procurement is approached centrally wherever possible to maximize gains/minimize unnecessary spend
- Maintain constant open communication with and clear direction for all relevant staff, remaining acutely aware of all tasks and activity on the project at all times
- Allocate daily tasks to all leading hands/direct reports, keeping close tabs on their productivity, efficiency, attitude and general work standards, focusing on avoiding any necessary re-work, whilst adhering to HSSEQ policies and meeting project deadlines.
- Oversee/run toolbox meetings/Daily Pre start meetings helping to foster a close and productive team environment.
- Closely monitor the working team’s environment, quickly identifying and eliminating any potential conflict or issues and resolving prior to escalation
- Track daily and weekly attendance and overall working hours, taking care to ensure weekly timesheet accuracy, including the capturing of any relevant travel time or other forms of allowances
- Ensure all relevant compliance and staff development training takes place to ensure project’s needs are met
- Working with HR’s guidance/assistance, ensure all new starters’ inductions take place on day one (when practicable) and that a “first week with UGL” itinerary is mapped out, regardless of project.
- Assist with QA documentation around Certifiable works.

**Qualifications**
- 5 years’ experience
- Trade Qualification
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands
