As our next **advancement leader **you will lead our alumni and fundraising teams as well as our prospect research and major gift philanthropy.

The role is highly visible and influential, working closely with the Vice Chancellor and our academic partners to develop and implement the UOW advancement strategy. This is an opportunity to build the strategy from the ground up; UOW’s Executive Dean and Council are eager to get started and there are lots of low hanging fruit that will allow you to make your mark straight away while you build a long-lasting foundation of philanthropy across the university.

**About you**
- You will love finding, developing and maintaining relationships with donors and you love nothing more than a room full of potential donors that you haven’t met yet.
- You will see the opportunities rather than the hurdles and understand how to build a team that love what they do as much as you.
- You’ll have a strategic head and see the bigger picture, but also understand how to get there.
- You’ll love the thrill of the chase and the feeling of success that comes from shepherding a donor relationship to the finish line.

**About the team**

The Advancement team is responsible for building relationships with donors that drive financial support for education, research, and other initiatives at the University, including motor neurone research, climate change research, placement poverty, indigenous learning and more.

With the University’s 50 th Anniversary in 2025, the team is in the planning stages of a campaign that will change how we approach fundraising and philanthropy. It’s a great time to join a growing team, and to make a major contribution to the incredible real-world impacts that philanthropy makes possible.

The Advancement team is a core part of the Advancement & Communications Division - a central service team that has come together from across the university to provide a best-practise marketing, communications and philanthropy service for our internal and external stakeholders.
