Investigator, Discipline and Suitability

The VLSB+C is currently recruiting for an Investigator to join their busy Discipline and Suitability team Investigate and handle complaints about lawyers, their fitness to practise, and the related litigation/regulatory responses required.
About the Position
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Discipline & Suitability, the position handles investigations into complaints about lawyers, their fitness to practise, disciplinary issues, and the related litigation and alternative regulatory responses required. These investigations and complaints are handled in a manner that is mindful of the needs to progress matters in a timely and appropriate fashion, and to provide good communication with all stakeholders.
About You
You will have
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- Qualifications and some investigations experience in a relevant environment (e.g. litigation, accounting, regulation, policing)
- A tertiary qualification in law will be highly regarded

**Other relevant information**:
The VLSB+C is committed to maintaining a work environment which is safe and without risk consistent with the obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (OH&S Act). Therefore, there is a requirement that all VLSB+C employees be up to date with their vaccinations against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes (unless an exception applies). To meet its obligations under the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (General Workers) Order (No. 3) Directions and the OH&S Act, the VLSB+C will request vaccination information or evidence of an exemption in the pre-employment stage. Inability to provide this may impact your subsequent employment to the department.
