Our circular economy team has the important task of delivering on our sustainability strategy.
In a newly created role we are looking for a Product Stewardship Lead, with the specific focus of looking at ways we can minimise the environmental impacts of our products throughout their life cycle.

**About the role**:
Working closely with the Product Stewardship Manager, you will develop programs and initiatives to help deliver our sustainability goals, whether that’s reducing packaging, working with our partners to minimise food waste, or looking for opportunities to use recycled products. You will be the key driver of our product stewardship strategy. You will also:

- Support the implementation of our Group-wide Circular Economy Action Plan, enabling Coles to meet stakeholder expectations and disclosure requirements related to circular economic activities.
- Design and deliver strategic programs and initiatives to support Coles’ Circular Economy Action Plan, with specific focus on product stewardship programs and practices.
- Support business units to engage with suppliers in order to understand and measure Coles’ product stewardship risks and opportunities, in line with global best practice guidance.
- Support with any documentation review and preparation for Board papers, Sustainability Steering Committee, and other cross functional working groups.
- Support Coles’ communication team with the development of product stewardship content for distribution through internal and external communication channels.

**About you and your skills**:
You will be passionate about sustainability with a wide knowledge of the current sustainability landscape. With a background in circularity and product stewardship, ideally you will have exposure to one or more areas of the following: packaging, recycling, waste reduction, lifecycle analysis, education and stakeholder engagement.

You will also have:

- Bachelor degree in a relevant field.
- Advanced stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Project management experience of complex programs of work
- Demonstrated strong organisation and problem solving skills.
- Ability to operate and adapt within a fast-paced culture of change.
- Technical understanding of circular economy issues and related impacts in Australia
