The Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) is CSIRO’s national digital health research program, enabling the digital transformation of healthcare to improve services and clinical treatment for Australians and beyond.

AEHRC is committed to increasing its contribution to addressing the health disparities between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Australia. The AEHRC has established a Team of Scientists and PhD students that are partnering with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisations (ATSICCHO’s) to co-design and co-develop potential e-Health solutions to complement existing successful models of care for some of the most significant health issues in their communities. They are actively seeking a Research Technician within their Indigenous Research Team to undertake projects related to improving Indigenous health.

**Your duties will include**:

- Assisting in carrying out research investigations or undertake modifications to research methods to improve Indigenous health (using digital technologies)
- Designing data recording and entry systems
- Conducting literature reviews, investigations and inspections in the field, including associated analysis possibly involving statistical or graphics software
- Performing some non-routine analyses or technology development activities using a range of techniques, often working on a number of parallel and competing tasks.
- Independently testing possible solutions to resolve identified problems.
- Engaging in stakeholder consultation with Indigenous community clients and a diverse group of clinicians, engineers, and end users, and performing analyses to derive novel insights for technical design and implementation evaluation.

**Salary**:AU$68k - AU$86k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**Tenure: Part-time specified term up to 28/06/2024 for ONLY 20 hours per fortnight**

**To be considered you will need**:

- Relevant certificate/diploma/bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience in Health System Evaluation, Public Health, Primary Health Care or Indigenous Heath Research.
- Prior Experience in undertaking Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research.
- Demonstrated expertise in cross cultural communication, in particular with relevance to Indigenous people, communities and/or health organisations.
- Ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and their leaders, respecting traditional culture, values and ways of doing business.
- High level written and oral communication skills with the ability to represent the research team effectively internally and externally, including the presentation of research outcomes at national and international conferences.
