**The role**:
We are seeking a dynamic **Governance Administration Officer** to join our team for a **9-month** fixed-term contract.

**Duties**:
As a key member of the Governance Team, you will work closely with staff to assist in the transition, operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Council’s new records management system to enable the delivery of effective information and knowledge management practices across the business.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform data integrity audits, monitor system error rates and report on system activity statistics to assist in ensuring records integrity and compliance. Therefore, ensuring Council’s records are archived in accordance with the guidelines and standards and that compliance with legislative requirements for records related matters in local government setting is achieved.
- Deliver efficient and effective information management systems and practices including system administration in accordance with relevant legislation, policy and process in order to ensure high levels of compliance, continuity of Electronic Document Records Management System (EDRMS) functionality and integrity of information contained within Council records.
- Increase staff capability through the delivery of onboarding support and the provision of ongoing, high-quality training and assistance to staff as it relates to the use of Council’s information systems and processes.
- Facilitate the accurate and timely maintenance and administration of core Governance registers, delegation processes, systems and documents in accordance with legislative requirements for local government and the organisation.
- Provide a comprehensive and high-quality service to enable the continuity of daily operation and optimum service delivery that effectively supports Information Assets and Governance and the broader organisation.
- Promote best practice in information management throughout the organisation.
- Liaise with and provide information management related assistance and advice to key stakeholders, supervisors and managers across the organisation.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive records in line with legislation, delegation and documented policies and processes.
- Support technical troubleshooting and resolution through timely and professional escalation to and liaison with the EDRMS vendor.
- Contribute towards the delivery of information management projects as they arise.
- Assist in Council Committee meeting support, including minute taking.

**Skills & experience**:

- Proven experience in a high-level customer service capability with sound understanding of customer service principles and exhibit a proactive approach to resolving business issues.
- Proven experience in a records management setting with working experience in maintaining an Electronic Document Records Management System.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build and sustain positive working relationships with staff, people at all levels within the public and private sectors, related industry and the community.
- Demonstrated high level of personal integrity and ethics with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in line with policy driven best practice.
- Flexibility and a sound ability to work on continuous improvement projects and initiatives as they relate to the work area.
