**Your role**

Working in a team environment you will deliver quality library and information services to judicial officers and decision makers across NSW, including both client services and technical services functions.

**What You’ll Do**

The Law Courts Library provides dedicated support and research collections to judicial officers, commissioners, tribunal members and their staff across all NSW jurisdictions and the Federal Court of Australia in NSW.

Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):

- Providing professional library and information services to onsite and offsite clients with diverse needs and expectations, including contributing to the delivery of the research assistance service.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and maintenance of the library collection.
- Updating the library management system, intranet and web pages as required.
- Supporting judicial officers and court staff in the publication of judgments on the NSW Caselaw website.
- Participating in the provision of library tours and inductions.
- Participating in project work. May co-ordinate a project or program to ensure the delivery of outcomes within agreed timeframes.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Qualifications acceptable for librarian or information specialist membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), or tertiary qualifications and experience deemed by the Secretary or the Public Service Commission to be equivalent, that meets the minimum standard of skill and knowledge inherent in the ALIA standard.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of library and information management concepts, principles and theories.

The Law Courts Library is one of the largest law libraries in Australia and provides services to all New South Wales courts and tribunals, the Federal Court of Australia (NSW Registry) and is the major law resource for judicial officers in the state.

The library provides a comprehensive collection of legal resources online and in print, legal research assistance, training sessions, and support for judgment publication to assist judicial officers, decision makers and court staff in the administration of justice.

The Law Courts Library is part of the Courts, Tribunals and Service Delivery division of the Department of Communities and Justice.
