**Aboriginal Employment Support Officer**

**Ongoing position, flexible full time or part time with a hybrid working model**

The People and Patient Experience Team leads strategic work to enhance the experience or patients, consumers and employees. We recognise the importance of the staff experience on the experiences and outcomes of our patients and families.

**Your contribution**

As the Aboriginal Employment Support Officer you will support projects and activities aimed at improving the experience of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Coordinating our staff Karreeta Networking and Mentoring group meetings and activities, alongside our Badjurr-Bulok Wilam Coordinator, Aunty Gina
- Assisting with projects as part of our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, including improvements to our employment practices.

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

- Sound knowledge of Aboriginal culture and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations
- Interest in Aboriginal Employment, Recruitment and Engagement
- Passion to improve the staff, patient and consumer experience through culturally safe, inclusive practices that are free from racism or any form of discrimination

**COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement***

Please be aware that in line with the Health Minister's Covid-19 Mandatory Vaccination Order, all workers at the Women's regardless of role, will be required to be fully vaccinated (3 doses) for COVID-19 or hold an acceptable medical exemption.

**Influenza Vaccination Requirement**

In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.

As this role fits into category C of the departments risk ratings, applicants are strongly encouraged (although not required) to be vaccinated against influenza.)
