Role Description
1st XI Head Coach
- Football
**Reports to: Director of Sport**
**Status: Casual**
**Role Purpose**
The role of the 1st XI Head Coach
- Football, is to lead and manage the delivery of the Football 1st program
at Meriden for the CIS Cup Squad, Bill Turner Trophy, Term 2 IGSA Football, and Term 3 IGSA
Invitational Football. The long-term objective of the Head Coach is to establish and maintain an elite
football program at the School.
The role will consist of planning training for the 1st XI Team, as well as assisting other coaches in their
preparation. You will be consulting daily with the Sports Administrator, report to the Director of Sport (7
- 12) and ultimately the Principal.
**Experience and Responsibilities (Football)**
- Establish and maintain an elite football program at the School
- Develop and maintain relationships with external organisations relevant to their sport/industry to
offer exit pathways for student athletes and for recruitment purposes.
- Create an awareness of our program to encourage elite athletes to enrol at Meriden
- Strategically develop the program to gain high performance results in school and state pathway
competitions, with an emphasis on the CIS Cup and IGSA Term 2 Competition
- Organise the day-to-day planning of training and competitions for the 1st XI squad
- Undertake any training as required, including holding a current first aid certificate at all times
- Create a culture within the football program based around core values of the school
- Representing Meriden proudly and appropriately at all times and on all occasions
**Essential Criteria**
- Ideally have experience coaching WNPL, NPL or SAP and/or experience playing WNPL or NPL
- Experience coaching within a school system or with young females
- At minimum have a FA Coaching C Licence
- Experience leading a group of coaches to produce a style of play
- To be an effective communicator and a positive, flexible team member
- Be able to multi-task and problem solve efficiently
- Be able to plan and complete projects and achieve necessary time lines
- Outstanding organisation skills, ability and stamina to work in multiple environments
- Ability to communicate and motivate students in a variety of methods
- Ideally experience with video analysis

School
- Loyalty to the School and the Principal.
**Working Commitment**
This role will commence with approximately 8 to 20 hours of work before (or after) school and a Saturday
