The role

The Product Portfolio Manager is responsible for the execution of all projects within the Maritime Product Group, and overall delivery responsibility for Enterprise Partnering Agreement (EPA). The portfolio includes projects from across the Maritime domain, including internal, Australian and international customers.

The role is directly responsible for the delivery of major contract outcomes related to this and also has the supervisory responsibility of project managers to deliver individual project/task outcomes in a coordinated, programmatic manner. Delivery to budget and customer schedule is critical while still effectively prioritising conflicting project priorities. As a member of the Product Group leadership team, the role has significant involvement in the resource management and strategy development of the Maritime Product Group.
- Generate and maintain a master schedule of project milestones with assignment of key roles against projects
- Monitor and review the execution of projects/tasks, and coordinate activities to achieve the master schedule and individual cost and schedule outcomes
- Run the Product Group risk process, ensuring risks are reviewed on a regular basis, and mitigation actions are owned and progressed appropriately
- With support from the EPA Lead, actively manage the EPA Performance Measurement Framework to ensure overall success of the EPA Program
- Assess and capture follow-on business to achieve order intake targets for the program
- Work with the Program Director and Program Managers within the Program group to identify, develop, report on and win new business opportunities
- Create an environment that enables successful delivery and resolves conflicts/competing priorities within the Product Group
- Oversee resourcing plans to deliver Product Group outcomes and be responsible for performance management of all direct reports and maintain oversight of performance of all in the reporting chain
- Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role._

About you
- Your skills and experience will include:_
- Tertiary qualifications in an engineering or business discipline.
- Significant experience in systems oriented projects (with broad experience in management / supervisory roles)
- Practical experience and theoretical understanding of project management fundamentals
- Demonstrated negotiation and interrelationship skills with ability to achieve effective outcomes in a multi-disciplined, multi-party environment
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated management and leadership/team building skills, with a track record of mentoring emerging leaders
- Problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to develop quick, effective, and reasonable courses of action in emergencies
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines
- Strong competency in customer relations, stakeholder management and development of new business
- Broad based competency in the management complex engineering development projects
- Demonstrated management in an organisation delivering complex systems solutions
- Demonstrated understanding of Defence customers and Defence industry

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
