As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, the Assistant Controller is responsible in providing accurate, timely management accounting and reporting to meet both local and international requirements. The incumbent will assist the Business Units (BU) leaders with the budget and financial reporting process for their business units.

This position is part of the Pall Finance team and will be located in Cheltenham, Melbourne.

In this role, you will have the opportunity in:
Monthly & Quarterly Variance Analysis (70%)- Monthly and quarterly reporting for each BU including comparison data for actual vs budgeted and current vs previous financial period- Review and approval of journal entries for correct allocation of expenses and sales adjustments- Review of Monthly balance sheet reconciliations- Preparation of monthly Profit & Loss for ANZ BU Leaders- Quarterly calculation/ review of obsolescence provision, sales return provisions- Analysis of BU performance including Sales and Margins, and operating profit with BU Leaders- Prepare quarterly Summary Memo for Profit & Loss

Budgeting and Forecasting for Australia & New Zealand region (20%)- Work with BU Leaders to prepare annual budgets for Australia.- Uploading and finalisation of budgets for ANZ- Monitoring and preparation of Monthly Forecasts

Regulatory Reporting & Analysis (10%)- Preparation and submission of legal and reporting compliance (FBT, ATO, state government, ABS, etc)- Annual Stock take preparation & reconciliation (if any)- Interface/Liaison with Internal and External audit requirements, including the preparation of US GAAP - IFRS reconciliation.- Interface/Liaison with CFS (Malaysia) for reconciliation Analysis & Journal Review

The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor Business in Accounting- 4-5 years of experience in Management Accounting (i.e. understanding of entries/double entries in finance)- 4-5 years of experience with budgets, P&L and sales/revenue reporting- Advanced Excel skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- CPA/ CA qualifications (or working towards CPA/CA)- Internal or external audit role- Variety of software/system platforms (i.e. SAP, One Stream, BI/BW)
