We are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent staff member to join our Sustainability Team based at our offices in Sunshine.

The role

Reporting to the Climate Emergency Coordinator we are seeking a Waste Education Officer who can bring their skills and experience for:

- Work across different Council departments to develop and deliver waste education projects and programs.
- Initiate, promote and deliver high quality targeted circular economy education, awareness and behaviour change, and audit/compliance programs to the Brimbank community.
- Maintain statistics and information on the ‘flows’ of all waste streams including contamination levels and use analytical and conceptual skills to identify barriers and solutions.
- Provide input and help to develop policy, strategy, advocacy documents and presentations.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Degree qualifications in waste management, sustainability, environmental management, education or other related field or lesser formal qualification with substantial experience.
- Experience and/or qualifications related to sustainability behaviour change techniques.
- Current Victorian driver’s licence.
- Current Working With Children Check
- Local government experience is desirable
