Hume City Council is committed to delivering innovative services and aim to achieve the empowerment of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community with improved parenting attachment, competence and confidence. Our service comprises the Aboriginal Engagement Team, Enhanced MCH Nurses, Parent Support Workers, Social Workers and the Universal MCH team.

**The opportunity**

We seek aa **Early Years Facilitator / Support Worker** who will work in our dedicated multidisciplinary team supporting our Indigenous community.

**About you**

With an extensive background in Early Childhood services, your passion is supporting improved outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, and your expertise will include:

- Facilitating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander parent and play groups
- Building parenting capacity working alongside families in their homes
- Providing holistic assistance, support and parenting skills development
- Linking with a range of community support services, including Early Start Kinder
- Knowledge of Child Protection legislation including experience in family violence

**Essential requirements**
- In addition to the abovementioned expertise, we require:_
- Qualification in Social Science or Early Childhood Education
- Significant knowledge of, and expertise in issues related to the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, specifically with children 0-6 years
- Understanding of Child Youth and Families Act 2005, National Quality Standards and Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework
- An interest in the Circle of Security early intervention program
