**The opportunity**

We have a new opportunity for a Senior/Lead UI Designer (Temporary full time role up to 30th June 2024) to join the SCATS Experience Design team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of User Experience, your responsibilities will include the design of the SCATS user interface inline with user needs and requirements. This role enables you to create interfaces that are intuitive, user-centred and focused on making complex tasks as simple as possible. You will have the opportunity to contribute to user research, create interactive prototypes, expand on the SCATS Design System, and conduct usability testing for a range of features for a global user-base. You will be able to uncover user needs, make user-centered design decisions, and validatie your designs with end users. This role will form a part of the SCATS UX and UI team and will contribute to the suite of traffic management tools make up the SCATS product.

Your role will include:

- Creating UI designs to drive improvements in customer experience across products.
- Working in an established team of UX and UI Designers.
- Collaborate with a cross functional team in the delivery of user-centred products and solutions via the design thinking process.
- Conducting end-to-end product design initiatives through discovery, ideation, validation, refinement and iterative development and delivery.
- Contribute to and uphold UI design standards processes and practices for the SCATS UX and UI team.
- Design visually appealing and engaging user-centred products and solutions and be responsible for design decisions during the software development lifecycle.
- Creating prototypes and conducting usability testing to ensure all designs meet user requirements.
- Work with and continue to develop the SCATS Design System.
- Collaborate with system architects, software and test engineers and end-users to generate a set of acceptance test requirements to ensure the user requirements have been met.
- Ensure designs are followed throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver an as-designed product

**About you**

The skills and experience we are looking for include:

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or extensive equivalent experience in Web or Mobile Application Design, Interaction Design, Human-Centered Design, and UI design for digital products.
- Minimum of 5+ year's of experience as a UX/UI designer (Senior/Lead preferred)
- Passionate about UI design with a focus on making iterative improvements.
- Collaboration skills and the ability work with a diverse team of designers, product owners, product managers, developers and stakeholders.
- Experience creating and working with design systems.
- Experience working with design patterns.
- Experience in creating interactive prototypes.

Desirable skills
- An understanding of accessible design principles
- Experience with user research and usability testing
- Working with developers

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 9 ($142,178.00 - $159,238.00) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.??
