**About the role**

The Victorian Chamber has built a strong, respected and visible presence and reputation through our coverage in the media, as well as our engaging and innovative content across our various communications channels. The Head of Media and Communications is responsible for continuing the organisation’s trajectory, in the media and across all digital communications. As a member of the senior management team, you will work closely with the Chief of Staff to manage the organisation’s media, communications and content. You will lead a dynamic and professional multidiscipline team to implement our media and communications strategy by generating meaningful written and digital communications and proactively coordinate media enquiries and activities. As content manager you will also oversee and manage communications across multiple platforms. Success in this position sees the Victorian Chamber continue to be the preferred commentator on all issues relevant to Victorian business as well as delivering engaging and innovative content. You will have strong relationships with key media outlets in this “hands-on” role, and work collaboratively with our policy and business services teams to ensure we remain the most influential and trusted advisory group in Victoria.

**About you**

To be successful in this position you will be tertiary qualified in media, communications, economics or a related discipline. You will have previous experience in advisory roles across strategy, media and communications, stakeholder engagement and government relations. A strong network of stakeholder and media contacts is essential as is a sound understanding of the business, political and media landscape. Previous management experience and the ability to lead a team to achieve tangible outcomes is essential. You will have superior writing, editing and verbal communication skills and a strong interest in public policy. Finally, you will have a strong business acumen, be able to be both strategic and operational and be motivated to succeed.
