**Role Description/Criteria**

The role and responsibility of the 0.8 FTE STEM teacher is to:

- Enhance and teach the STEM program according to the Victorian Curriculum
- Organise systematic assessment of student’s STEM skill development
- Meet with the designated Learning and Teaching Leader regularly to discuss the STEM program being delivered
- Work alongside the Learning and Teaching Team to make connections between STEM and other classroom curriculum
- Promote STEM in the school and to the wider community
- Assess, analyze, document, monitor, and track student progress
- Develop a stimulating learning environment by using a variety of styles and approaches to cater to individual learning needs
- Use the knowledge of students, content, and pedagogy to establish clear, achievable, documented, and targeted learning goals
- Use contemporary learning tools to engage students and staff in their learning
- Regularly reflect on and critically evaluate professional knowledge and the effectiveness of teaching and commit to the school’s feedback culture and practices

Special Requirements
- have an understanding of the ethos and traditions of the Catholic Church
- have VIT registration
- be accredited to teach RE or committed to achieving this accreditation
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- commit to St George Preca School's Child Safe policies and the Code of Conduct
