**About the Program**

The Manager - Community Health Promotion and Education (CHPE) Programs is responsible for the smooth operations of Community Health and Education Programs inclusive of Tobacco Intervention Services, Nunga Active, Marketing and Communications and Harm Minimisation Team and support the development of new initiatives aligned to this area.

The broad purpose is provided management, advice, direction and to ensure quality Health Promotion Prevention and Early Interventions to Aboriginal communities, targeted groups and families through a range of strategies consistent with specific industry standards eg Health Promotion and Harm Minimisation Principles to achieve quality outcomes consistent with the purpose of the organisation.

**About the Role**

The primary role of the Manager - Community Health Promotion and Education is and not limited to:

- Ensure the achievement of Nunkuwarrin Yunta’s strategic goals by contributing to planning, directing, and supporting the smooth operations of the services area.
- Provide leadership and oversight of agreed operational plans within the service area.
- Contribute to the development of new services and initiatives including identifying, investigating, reporting, and leading new initiatives of the services area.
- Ensure that all activities undertaken meet legislative, professional and endorsed accreditation standards and complies with any funding provider obligations and priorities in relation to the provision of services, activities, and programs.
- Negotiate on matters of significance to the organisation with others including internal managers and bodies and/or members of the public and ensuring the development of collaborative service partnerships.
- Contribute to the development of organisation policy and new procedures and quality service processes.
- Identify, advice and implement Strategic and Operational/Business Strategies pertaining to Unit contracts e.g. Promotion and Prevention, Alcohol &Drugs, Sports and Fitness sector meet both internal and external key stakeholders needs.
- Manage staff including establishing and monitoring work outcomes and KPI’s to ensure quality services and external accreditation and providing professional feedback and development opportunities

**Remuneration**

This position is under the Nunkuwarrin Yunti Enterprise Agreement classification of **Middle Manager **Level **2.2 **(Salary sacrifice and paid Christmas and New Year break)

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
All positions within Nunkuwarrin Yunti of SA Inc will be required to undergo a six (6) months probationary period.

**ESSENTIAL **-** **includes qualifications, skills, experience, and knowledge.
- Minimum qualifications to Diploma level and/or a significant level of relevant experience appropriate to the role.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities including the ability to motivate others and to adopt a teamwork approach to achieve organisational objectives.
- Ability to effectively negotiate and communicate at a senior level.
- Proven abilities as a change agent for delivery of improved policies and practices, including the ability to recognise opportunities and promote the positive involvement of others in change initiatives.
- Ability to express clear and meaningful goals and the ability to define the necessary approaches and required courses of action.
- Highly developed communication skills, including public presentation, relationship management and consultation.
- Pragmatic, responsive and able to deal with a broad span of issues.
- Significant ability in business management and ability to provide support in areas such as budget planning, strategic development, business planning etc.
- Significant ability in human resource management to motivate staff and achieve organisational goals.
- Knowledge of OHSW legislation and principles.
