Theatre Bookings Clerk

Your role at St John of God Berwick Hospital

Working closely with hospital Caregivers, the Theatre Bookings Clerk is responsible for reviewing, and disseminating information in a timely manner relating to patients procedure and admission, and is the primary contact for clinicians, practice managers and medical representatives.

The Position-
- Primarily responsible for the coordination of main theatre bookings.- Liaison with Doctor’s receptionists, and other booking clerks to ensure an efficient and timely booking service is provided.- Entering bookings into the theatre booking system, and communicating with surgeon’s rooms to ensure accurate and timely information is provided.- Obtain schedule of Anaesthetists for theatre lists from aesthetic Groups- Obtain order of theatre cases from Surgeons Rooms as required.- Receive and refer to the Shift Co-ordinator any additional cases received before confirming bookings; Notify clinical areas of additional bookings.- Prepare a daily surgeon’s list for the next day set-ups.- Arrange theatre requirements (x-ray, pathology etc).- Maintain IBA theatre module sessionsYou will have previous experience with hospital patient administration systems, with advanced skills and knowledge with a range of computer packages, particularly the Microsoft Office suite, and ability to plan, prioritise, organise and coordinate work in conjunction with other departments.

To succeed you will possess excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills, strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage workload, and the ability to work as an active team member, contributing to a productive team environment.
