A new opportunity has arisen for a suitable individual to join a leading global supplier of truck parts in the position of Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager.
As the Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible to ensure direct reports satisfy Delivery and Fill with excellence to all Customers while achieving and maintaining business / department & business Goals and KPI’s.
You will be responsible to drive overall supplier performance including cost, quality, delivery & continuous improvements from the supply base.
The role requires ongoing communication and collaboration with all internal departments to meet desired arrival of all materials in line with Customer demand and forecast. Another key success factor of the position is the development & implementation of sourcing strategies to support the business objectives.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Establish, maintain, and improve Material planning with the utilisation of continuous improvement process tools, standard performance metrics
- Plan and Report Inventory Forecast in local and global reporting structures ( Monthly / Quarterly )
- Negotiate Supplier contracts and expectations ( Local & Global )
- Implement appropriate sourcing strategies to control the company’s purchased material costs and to assure an adequate source of supply
- Managing and optimising supplier performance, including continuous improvement, innovations, obsolescence and reduction in total cost of ownership
- Manage & drive suppliers cost, quality, and delivery performance. Maintain and promote sound relationships with suppliers and the business community
- Support Sales and marketing teams with direct Customer communication and integration
- Contributing to establish an annual budget and financial targets for the business
- Assist in improving the overall business profitably on the total cost of material ownership including “smart” supplier scheduling, optimised freighting, effective production planning & being innovative on the obsolescence inventories

**Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills**:

- 5 - 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing environment
- Sound understanding of basic purchasing principles
- Strong PC skills, esp. MS suite (Word/Excel)
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills (written & verbal).
- Think conceptually/Intuitively/strategically

**Education/Certifications**:

- Bachelor degree in Logistics or related field
- APICS certification (preferred)
