**About the Role**:

- The primary objective of a Locomotive Driver Assistant is to assist the Locomotive Driver in the safe and efficient operation of train services.
- Responsibilities include preparing and inspecting locomotives and wagons in accordance with operational procedures, maintaining vigilance, interpreting signal indications, complying with operational standards, and strictly adhering to Network Safety rules and regulations.
- Hold a valid qualification as a Driver Assistant (Second Person), demonstrating expertise in the role.
- Possess a strong familiarity with NSW Safeworking Systems, showcasing knowledge of safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Maintain a current Class C motor vehicle driver's license, highlighting a commitment to responsible and reliable transportation.
- Display exceptional adaptability working in a dynamic 24/7 shift environment, emphasizing flexibility and dedication.
- Exhibit a keen focus on safety, with a positive attitude towards ensuring the well-being of yourself and others.
- Demonstrate a willingness to actively participate in ongoing training and development activities, showcasing a commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Successfully pass all required pre-employment recruitment tests, including CAT 1 Rail Medical Assessments, as well as any site-specific tests/inductions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
