**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Arborist to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Junior Arborist, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills under the guidance of senior arborists. Whether you're climbing trees, pruning branches, or conducting tree assessments, you'll play a vital role in supporting our mission to preserve and protect Australia's urban forests.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist senior arborists in performing a variety of tree care tasks, including pruning, trimming, and removals.
- Operate and maintain arboricultural equipment, such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Participate in basic assessments and tree health evaluations, assisting with the identification of diseases, pests, and structural defects.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of tree management plans, ensuring the proper care and maintenance of trees on client properties.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing friendly and professional service at all times.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to expand your knowledge of arboriculture practices, industry standards, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including job details, equipment usage, and safety inspections.
- Uphold the company's commitment to environmental sustainability and conservation, promoting responsible tree care practices within the community.
**Qualifications**:
- Entry-level position; no prior experience required.
- Interest in arboriculture, forestry, or related field.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior team members.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Valid driver's license or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
