What does the job look like?

Bevchain is a business unit within our organisation, specialising in beverage logistics and supply chain management in Australia. As part of Bevchain, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering end-to-end solutions for the storage, distribution, and transportation of beverages.

The Commercial Manager will be the leader responsible for preparation and analysis of financial models for BevChain across the business for Australia’s leading beverage customers throughout Australia and New Zealand. This role is accountable for analysis of new business opportunities as well as commercial optimisation of existing customer contracts. The role will be responsible for compiling the annual plan and evaluating commercial and financial performance against the plan on a weekly basis.

This position will closely collaborate with the General Manager of Commercial and Finance, as well as multiple internal and external stakeholders, to examine and implement the most advantageous methods of operation, ultimately contributing to the enduring sustainability and profitability of the BevChain contracts in the AU/NZ region. Additionally, this role encompasses the responsibility of overseeing one direct report, namely a Commercial Analyst.

The Commercial Manager will provide strategic, financial, and commercial counsel to the President and General Manager, furnishing them with data-driven insights into the risks and opportunities inherent in both the current and potential operations of BevChain.

Key areas:

- Provide financial modelling and analysis across new and existing work in the BevChain business. This extends to:

- Preparation of CAM Models for new work
- Generating detailed business costing and analysis for tenders
- Preparation of detailed financial models for existing customers to determine how business profitability can be improved
- Deep dive into customer contracts/operational areas performing under expectation and work with operations to propose remedial action
- Provide analysis as requested by BevChain Management Committee and Executive Management to assist in understanding business performance and opportunities for improvement
- Provide assistance to finance/operations in analysis/interpretation of weekly/monthly results
- Lead and coach finance and operational teams with preparation and analysis of annual budgets and forecasts
- Assist operations & executive team to quantify the financial impaction of operational and market changes, new technology and legislative impacts
- Develop an excellent understanding of site operations and how they relate to the financial models prepared
- Identify opportunities to refine current processes to further improve customer profitability
- Provides proactive specialist support to GM and site managers to facilitate the maximization of business opportunities with existing and new customers.
- Assist Group Manager / GM in all contract negotiations and attend customer meeting to provide detail as required
- Review all tender proposals for accuracy prior to submission
- Assist BevChain achieve strategic growth and profitability targets by defining short term and long term activities

Are you the one?

- Tertiary education/Degree qualification (preferred)
- Prior experience in Supply Chain Logistics or FMCG (highly regarded)
- Strong financial background and proficiency in interpreting analytics
- Strong communication with ability to converse across all operational levels
