**About the role**:
We are seeking a Domestic and Family Violence Clinician to join our Violence Abuse and Neglect (VAN) team within Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD). This role guides and enhances our response to domestic and family violence, collaborating with various stakeholders, and driving the implementation of NSW Domestic and Family Violence Reforms and the Safer Pathway Initiative.

As a Domestic and Family Violence Clinician, you will provide crucial consultation, clinical advice, and support across the district, ensuring the effective management of clients experiencing domestic and family violence. Your role will involve working closely with the VAN Clinical Coordinator, the Children, Young People, and Families (CYP&F) Services, and other district teams to improve care coordination, contribute to Safety Action Meetings, and provide education and training on child protection and domestic violence management.

Your responsibilities will include the development and monitoring of policies and procedures, coordination of inter-agency responses, and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including NSW Police Force, the Department of Education, and various advocacy and community services. You will also be involved in data collation and reporting, ensuring alignment with legislative and policy frameworks.

**Where you’ll be working**:
The Violence, Abuse, and Neglect Services comprises of 4 teams across a number of sites including the John Hunter Children’s and John Hunter Hospital. These include Child Protection Team and Child Protection Counselling Service, JCPRP, and the Newcastle Sexual Assault Service. It also includes coordination of the essential medically lead clinics including the Out of Home Care Clinic.

**Requirements**:

- Must hold as a minimum a bachelor's degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers with a minimum of three years full time clinical experience
- Eligibility to drive and willingness to travel for work purposes

**Additional Information**:

- To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
