JETS Transport Express is the premium road transport provider to the aviation industry. When international air cargo touches down in Australia, we’re there to get it the rest of the way to its destination. Our interstate trucking services cover the domestic legs of international airfreight operations, driving between all the major cities from our hubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Coolangatta, Perth and Adelaide.
Today we operate as a wholly Qantas-owned but independently managed business. With unbeatable reliability, security and attention to detail, it’s no surprise we’re Australia’s road feeder of choice.
Reporting to the Regional Customer & Business Manager, the Operations Supervisor coordinates all local freight deliveries and collections ensuring all safety and compliance measures are adhered to. This role is crucial to the day-to-day management of staff and operations including customer liaison and escalation.
This is a rotating shift position required to work various shifts during the week and on weekends. This role manages approximately 5 local staff per shift and to ensure we meet our operational requirements, the Supervisor will play a part in driving.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Being the primary forklift operator arranging all freight movements between trucks
- Fatigue management for all staff
- Playing an active lead in staff engagement toolbox talks
- Planning and execution of customer requests
- Ensuring drivers depart on time for delivery to other ports
- Manage customer issues to resolution within adequate timeframes.
To be considered for this role you will need:
- Operational experience in a similar industry (e.g. Aviation, transport, rail, mining)
- A valid HC or Forklift licence (or in the process of obtaining)
- A good & safe driving record with a minimum 2 years’ experience with driving
- Demonstrated commitment to managing a safe workplace
- Ability to work under pressure and remain calm
- To be customer focused
- A high level of personal presentation and behaviour
- Strong commitment to teamwork, innovative and proactive style
- Flexibility to work a 7 day rotating shift roster
- Ability to meet the requirements for an ASIC security clearance, pre-employment medical assessment, and drug and alcohol test.
