Eden Ritchie is seeking a **Procurement Specialist** who will work as part of a transformational program of nine projects to review current practices, identify and develop sustainable improvement solutions in collaboration with the stakeholders, and guide implementation and adoption.
- 11 month contract
- Brisbane CBD location

**As the Procurement Specialist, your key responsibilities will include**:

- Provide high quality and expert advice to stakeholders in a relevant, timely and accurate manner on matters relating to the transformation and optimisation of Department procurement operations.
- Contribute specialist knowledge and leadership to the development of project plans, and related artifacts, to ensure effective project delivery and sustainable outcomes.
- Transfer specialist knowledge and upskill departmental and employees, in accordance with program scope and objectives.
- Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with stakeholders including System Procurement branch, other P&SCO programs, Supply Chain Surety Branch, the broader Department and other Queensland Government partners.
- Lead the research, analysis and preparation of submissions, reports, briefing materials and correspondence, to senior management and executive stakeholders, on matters relating to the program.
- Contribute to a high level of professional practice in the business by maintaining expert knowledge of contemporary procurement strategies, policies and practices and an awareness of Government priorities and initiatives that have implications for the procurement function.
- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Contribute to the achievement of an equitable, ethical and safe working environment for staff, which has an emphasis on commitment, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.

**The successful applicant will demonstrate**:

- Demonstrated experience conceptualising, strategising and leading the delivery of procurement transformation and process improvement activities in complex public or private sector environments.
- Demonstrated operational experience at a senior level, in the end-to-end procurement value chain, including a thorough understanding of procurement commercial principles, commercial models and experience in complex contract negotiation.
- Undertakes objective, systematic analysis and draws accurate conclusions based on evidence.
- Advanced communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, including demonstrated ability to advise and influence executive stakeholders on complex procurement issues, and work collaboratively as an effective team member.
- Constructs and delivers against project plans that have clear and appropriate objectives and timeframes, whilst managing competing priorities.
- Takes personal responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing work. Shows initiative and proactively steps in and does what is required.
- Acts as a role model for the program and broader System Procurement function, in accordance with Queensland Public Service, and CSD values.
