The National Anti-Corruption Commission
The National Anti-Corruption Commission enhances integrity in the Commonwealth public sector by deterring, detecting and preventing corrupt conduct involving Commonwealth public officials. It does this through education, monitoring, investigation, reporting and referral.

About these opportunities
The Commission has several vacancies available at the APS3 and APS4 level for immediate filling. As part of the recruitment process, we hope to establish merit pools in each office location to fill vacancies as they arise over the next 18 months from the date of advertising in the APS Gazette (APS Jobs).
We currently have offices in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney, and are in the process of securing offices in Brisbane and Perth.
Successful applicants in Brisbane and Perth will need to work remotely until our new offices are open at which time, they will be expected to attend the office on a regular basis.
About the roles
**APS 3 - Intake Officers (Canberra Only)**
The Intake Officers will work within a small team responsible for the frontline for the NACC in triaging reports received about corrupt conduct.
In accordance with the APS Level 3 Work Level Standards, you will be responsible for:
- The intake of reports to the Commission from agencies within jurisdiction and members of the public.
- Initial contact handling by telephone and in writing, requiring you to speak with and write to your customers. This will include occasional face to face dealings (in a secure environment).
- Capturing succinct summaries of reports of corrupt conduct to enable your Triage and Assessments colleagues to determine where reports are within jurisdiction and meet the definition of corrupt conduct.
- Seeking additional information about the report where necessary.
- Escalating reports that meet key thresholds.
- Communicating outcomes where reports do not meet these thresholds.
- Managing a busy outlook mailbox.
- Working towards agreed productivity goals.
- Performing ad hoc administration tasks and adhering to internal policy.
- Being an active member of the Intake and Triage team by contributing to strategic initiatives specific to the business area and the branch more broadly and;
- Identifying and raising training, system, performance and cultural issues in the spirit of continuous improvement.
**APS 4 - Triage Officers**
The Triage Officer will work within a small team responsible for the frontline for the NACC in triaging reports received about corrupt conduct.
This will be done utilising a system-based triage model and will require you to review the information provided in an objective manner to determine where allegations are within jurisdiction, meet the definition of corrupt conduct and are serious or systemic. You will need to be comfortable both speaking with and writing to the people and agencies who submit reports of corrupt conduct to the NACC.
Your work will be performed under general direction and oversighted by a Quality Assurance framework. This will ensure you receive regular constructive feedback, and that our processes, procedures and training support you to do your best and most productive work.
In accordance with the APS Level 4 Work Level Standards, you will be responsible for:
- Taking initial contacts from the public, including phone and written contacts.
- Reviewing reports submitted to the NACC of alleged corrupt conduct and determining where they are within jurisdiction, meet the definition of corrupt conduct and are serious or systemic.
- Seeking additional information about the report where necessary.
- Escalating reports that meet these thresholds to the Assessments team.
- Communicating outcomes where reports do not meet these thresholds.
- Capturing succinct summaries of reports, your analysis of the situation, and your recommended triage outcome.
- Working towards agreed productivity goals.
- Performing ad hoc administration tasks and adhering to internal policy.
- Being an active member of the Intake and Triage team by contributing to strategic initiatives specific to the business area and the branch more broadly.
- Identifying and addressing training, system, performance and cultural issues in the spirit of continuous improvement; and
- Supporting the Director by leading work that contributes to agency-wide priorities and objectives, including capability building.
