**About the Building Commission NSW**
Building Commission NSW has been established after the NSW Government recognised the substantial progress made by Fair Trading and the Office of the Building Commissioner in delivering once-in-a-generation reforms of the building and construction industry. The new commission will not only be the industry regulator, but also a collaborator with consumers and industry to ensure standards, capabilities, capacity and resilience continue to be lifted across the sector to deliver quality homes and meet the state’s housing targets.

The Policy team are responsible for driving the NSW Government’s building and construction reform agenda.
**Key responsibilities**
- Leading engagement across Government, industry and the community to develop policy and legislative reform proposals.
- Leading teams to develop a comprehensive evidence base to inform Government decisions and building industry issues.
- Working with Departmental leaders to support the Minister to develop and implement legislation and Cabinet Submissions.
- Leading engagement with industry and community stakeholders to find opportunities to work together to address issues across the construction sector.
- Develop teams to increase capability across the policy cycle, including problem identification, options development, implementation and evaluation.
**Key challenges**
Influencing and negotiating key timeframes in line with competing demands, including parliamentary, stakeholder and internal workloads and timelines.
Work closely with other teams to ensure delivery of key reform projects
**To be successful in this role, you will**:
- Successfully led legislative or Cabinet processes.
- Understanding of how to bring together senior stakeholders with differing views to an implementable single position.
- A collaborative nature and enjoys working in a team.

Salary Clerk Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $139787 base plus superannuation
