About the role

TAFE NSW is looking for individuals with current industry experience and knowledge in any of the areas listed above, to join our team of Offsite Markers on a casual basis.

The Offsite Marker is responsible for providing marking of assignments and assessment tasks, and constructive feedback for TAFE Digital’s distance education students. These roles are flexible, don't require you to attend a campus, and marking can be done anytime that works for you

Contract teachers (also called off-site markers) are employed by TAFE Digital to assess students who submit their assignments via an online learning system.

Contract teachers are paid per assignment marked. There is no guarantee of ongoing work as this depends on the number of student assessments submitted, and the capability of the teacher to mark them.

About you

1. Have a recognised degree in a relevant area of Community Services.

2. Have worked in one or more of the following areas: Alcohol and other Drug Work, Community Work, Disability Work, Mental Health, Child Protection, Social Housing, Welfare, Youth Work for a minimum of three (3) years, part of which has been gained within the last two (2) years.

3. Have a comprehensive current knowledge of the industry and job roles and strong understanding of current trends and practice within the Community Services sector.

4. Hold a Certificate IV TAE40116 or equivalent.

Contract teachers (in addition to the attached ‘duties’) are expected to:

- Provide valid, sufficient, reliable fair and individualized feedback to learners, modeling appropriate language, grammar, and spelling.
- Remain current in the relevant Community Services Industry as per RTO standards 2015.
- Remain current in the relevant training and assessment qualification (e.g. TAE40116).
- Develop and maintain an Individual Delivery Profile in TAFE records.
- Attend an off-site marker meeting each term for significant updates and professional development (including maintaining teaching currency.)
