The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
A particular focus of this role relates to the Specialist Palliative Rural Telehealth Service (SPaRTa). This service provides an interdisciplinary specialist palliative care consultancy service to rural and remote settings across Queensland. The Gold Coast Supportive and Specialist Palliative Care Services (SSPCS) provides the statewide coordination along with a clinical team that delivers care across Darling Downs and South West Hospital & Health Services.
Multiple roles may be filled from this advertisement, including The Bluecare Project, supporting implementation of NGO access across rural Queensland, and you may be required to take part in a 7-day service including weekend day shifts as part of a 7-day service expansion.
You will
- Partner with community care providers in the provision of specialist palliative nursing care
- Provide specialist palliative care interventions via telehealth to consumers living in rural settings in South West Queensland and the Darling Downs
- Provide leadership, mentoring and capacity building for the rural nursing workforce as well as working across the state with other SPaRTa CNCs to maximise end of life outcomes for rural Queenslanders
- Develop collaborative working relationships and partnerships between rural healthcare providers, other hub sites for SPaRTa and the GCH SSPCS
- Establish partnerships with organisations such as non-government primary care providers to ensure effective planning, delivery, and evaluation of services
- Be required to work flexibly and rotate across the Gold Coast Health SSPCS as operationally required

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- AHPRA registration
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary part time (Until 30 June 2024, possibility of extension, 64 hrs p.f.)
- Base salary ranging from $64.90 - $70.47 per hour
