The Software Licensing Administrator requires knowledge of financial, legal and technical processes, tools and techniques and includes providing information and advice to optimise value, control costs, manage risks, support decision-making and meet regulatory or contract.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Consult, negotiate, liaise and provide sound advice regarding licensing of all software products.
- Perform software auditing and metering activities, developing and implementing tailored reports via the approved departmental discovery tool and undertaking software data interrogation and analysis.
- Identify and implement Software Asset Management oriented business improvement and innovation strategies and initiatives, in line with Whole-of Government software license management standards and industry best practice frameworks.
- Set up new customers in the Software License Database and Issue Software License Keys to new and renewing users.
- Manage, maintain and update the Configuration Management Database system relating to Software Asset Management in the approved information repositories.
