The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Spatial Analyst to join our dynamic national Spatial Team. This role is based in our Melbourne head office.

In this role, you will collaborate with our talented professionals to deliver GIS services and provide support to our consulting staff. Your responsibilities will encompass offering GIS support to clients across Urbis' diverse array of projects, spanning from economists, transport to planners and heritage specialists. This multifaceted position presents a valuable opportunity for recent graduates to gain invaluable work experience and exposure to leading industry specialists.

**You will**:

- Liaising with consulting staff at all levels of the business to raise awareness of how Spatial (GIS) analysis can contribute to client outcomes;
- Assisting in composing maps, with varying levels of complexity from simple to complex, fitting with the corporate brand and standard product specifications as well as cartographic principals to client defined requirements;
- Assisting in geo-processing, including concatenation of simple and complex attribute and spatial queries for map display and/or data extraction;
- Drafting cartographic vision on all facets of map production, including contributing to a review of current Urbis map templates and cartographic styles;
- Assisting in data creation and maintenance (including geocoding) for project specific requirements in addition to maintaining corporate spatial data used by the Spatial & Applications team;
- Assisting in ensuring a consistency of product flowing out of the Spatial & Applications team to the wider business;
**About You**:

- Tertiary qualification in Geographic Information Systems (or equivalent) in progress
- Knowledge of ESRI's ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro and A.G.O.L as well as Microsoft Desktop suite
- Knowledge of good cartographic practice
