The Role
The Principal Controls Officer holds a pivotal role in developing, defining, implementing, and training project control functions to enhance project outcomes within Health Capital Division (HCD). Working in a team overseeing project delivery and quality assurance, success in this role involves excelling in program and project management best practices, cultivating strong relationships with project teams/key stakeholders, and actively contributing to project success. Key responsibilities include adhering to service quality standards and safety protocols, delivering efficient and high-quality program and project control functions and researching and interpreting issues related to program controls. You will also contribute to procedural development, influence continual improvements in Program/Project Control practices, standardise control procedures, provide training to program control staff, nurture relationships with program stakeholders, and offer valuable advice on system development, maintenance, and modifications. The successful person
This role will report to the Manager Program Controls and while not mandatory, desirable qualifications and skills including experience with P3O and Managing Successful Programs (MSP) will be well regarded. You will possess a strong background in program, project, and controls management, especially within large infrastructure programs, advanced Excel and Power BI proficiency, expertise in program management reporting and data reconciliation, and prior experience in developing and implementing control processes and compliance for infrastructure projects. The core requirements for this role involve effective management of both internal and external relationships, open communication, networking, collaboration, a proactive approach to continuous improvement and a commitment to rigorous information analysis and informed decision-making.
