**About the Position**
- As Kitchen Hand, you will be responsible for kitchen cleaning duties as well as assisting line cooks by completing food preparation tasks.
**This is a casual position, minimum 25 hours per week.**

**Key Accountabilities**

**Food Storage and Preparation**
- Store and sort food in the correct manner
- Receive and sort supplies and deliveries
- Organise the refrigerator and freezer and defrost meat as directed
- Wash and chop fruit and vegetables
- Prepare sauces and marinades
- Prepare other food for cooking as directed by the chef in charge
- Follow proper hygienic food handling practices
- Carry out any other duties as advised from time to time

**Cleaning and Sanitation**
- Wash and sort plates, cups, cutlery and cooking equipment
- Dispose of rubbish and waste
- Organise the sorting of recycling materials
- Keep all work areas, cool room, storeroom and rear areas tidy
- Clean and sanitise all areas of the kitchen, all kitchen equipment, crockery and cutlery
- Sweep and mop all floor areas in the kitchen and corridors leading to the kitchen
- Maintain the kitchen equipment and plant in good condition

**Workplace Health and Safety**
- Comply with Ingenia’s WHS Policy and Procedures and any reasonable instructions from any supervisor/authorised representative of the company concerning health and safety matters

**About You**
- Knowledge of HACCP and an understanding of how it relates to our Food Safety Program
- Food Safety Training Accreditation
- Self-motivated and pro-active team player
- Well organised and time conscious
- Good communicator
- Keen eye for detail
- Responsive

**Physical Requirements**
- Frequent lifting when accepting deliveries, unpacking stock, cleaning and/or moving furniture
- Operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment / cookers / dishwashers
- Use of all cooking and cleaning equipment
