We're a small friendly team who spend our days pumping out hundreds of desserts, and we need your help We're looking for someone who can clear the dishes throughout the day, handle the heavy lifting (15kg) and perform the end of day clean.

As a vital member of our production team, you'll be the engine keeping things running smoothly, whizzing around ensuring the team have what they, and lending a hand wherever it's needed, keeping the dishes and equipment clean and ready for use and ensuring the kitchen is kept in great condition. If you're quick on your feet, brimming with positivity, and comfortable with clear communication, you'll fit right in.

We're a wholesale plant based dessert business based in West End (just 10 minutes from the CBD). We produce a range of vegan slices and cakes for hospitality venues around Australia in large quantities.

**Hours: 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, NO weekend work | Location: West End | Must be available 5 days.**

**Your main responsibilities will include**:

- Performing the heavy lifting to support the pastry team i.e. transferring baked trays into the trolleys/freezer (10kg to 12kg each), refilling ingredients (15kg boxes).
- Dishes and cleaning
- Performing the end of day clean in preparation for our night cleaner. E.g. cleaning down machines, removing food mixture from the floor, wiping down benches, washing and putting away dishes.
- Preparing ingredients, measuring etc
- Adhering to HACCP protocols

**What's really important to us**:

- Fit and strong, able to comfortably lift 10kg to 15kg repetitively throughout the day (our baking trays weigh 15kg when filled with product and you will regularly be lifting and moving them). **Part of your main role is to perform the heavier tasks for our pastry team, please keep this in mind if applying. This role is suited to strong individuals.**:

- A minimum of one year working within a kitchen/food production environment, this could be a bakery, hotel, restaurant, wholesale food production etc. It's important to us that you have a sound knowledge of food hygiene practices.
- An enthusiastic, upbeat and hard working attitude (we take this REALLY seriously, our team are positive and friendly, anyone who's a glass half empty kind of person, grunts as their form of communication or doesn't like taking direction - please don't apply).
- Ability to multi-task and show initiative, and most importantly capable to work unsupervised. You'll be jumping from section to section, from task to task so you need to be someone who can look around and see what needs to be done next as a priority, but respond well when that's interrupted as you'll be assisting multiple teams.
