**Your role**:
**As the Canteen Supervisor your key responsibilities**:

- Canteen Operations: Manage day-to-day operations of the school canteen, including menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage suppliers to ensure a well-stocked canteen.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
- Financial Management: Handle cash transactions, record sales, and maintain financial records for the canteen.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with the school community to create a diverse and healthy menu that caters to various dietary requirements.
- Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of canteen staff, including scheduling and training.

**Must-Have Skills and Experience**:

- Food Safety Supervisor Certification: A valid food safety supervisor certificate is essential.
- Previous Supervisory Experience: Experience in a similar supervisory role, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
- Menu Planning: Proficiency in menu development, considering nutritional guidelines and dietary restrictions.
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Inventory Management: Ability to manage inventory, place orders, and monitor supplies.
- Hygiene and Safety: Knowledge of food safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Financial Management: Basic accounting skills and the ability to manage cash transactions.

**Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience**:

- Culinary Skills: Cooking or food preparation experience.
- Experience in School Setting: Previous work experience in a school or educational environment.
- First Aid Certification: Certification in first aid and CPR.
- Team Leadership: Experience in leading and motivating a small team.
- Nutrition Knowledge: Understanding of nutrition and dietary guidelines and knowledge of the Government Healthy Choices Programs for school canteens.
