The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

About the role

Assist with the daily operations within the Cafés providing quality customer service, processing sales and receipting money, filling orders, general food preparation, cooking and serving, cleaning, cash handling, and in particular Barista duties.

This is a casual position located in Hamilton, Newcastle NSW. There are 4 available roles.

Responsibilities include:

- Supporting all Cafe Operations
- Preparing, cooking, and serving food and beverages
- Front-of-house operations including customer services and barista
- Opening and closing of café
- Following WHS and industry standards
- Hygiene and Cleaning

You will have
- Industry experience in the hospitality sector, including as a Barista
- Patience, empathy and a Can Do attitude
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
- A valid Employee Working with Children Check
- COVID cert
- A current Drivers licence desirable
