**Pearl Home Care Newcastle and Hunter is looking for experienced aged care support workers** who don’t just want to fill their working week with shifts - they want to provide continuity of care and friendship to our valued clients. Our approach to home care is simple: If we provide outstanding one-on-one care and assistance in the home environment, our clients can remain living comfortably and confidently in their own homes for as long as possible.

No one wants a revolving door of carers who don’t have the time to really get to know the person, their schedule or care needs. That is why we always pay more than the award rate to ensure we can attract the right workers who have a genuine interest in long-term relationships and quality of care over time.

**What will you be doing?**
- Providing companionship and dementia care
- Assisting people to perform important daily activities
- Facilitating daily personal hygiene and dressing tasks
- Performing home based tasks such as food preparation and housework
- Undertaking tasks outside the home such as shopping and taking clients to appointments and group activities

Most importantly, you should possess the ability to participate in activities and hobbies with our valued clients providing them the opportunity to socialise, experience new things, improve their physical health and relieve stress. By getting to know our clients individually, you will help them engage in rewarding activities and discussions that interest them, enhance their wellbeing and self-esteem, and increase their sense of self-worth.

**Skills and requirements**:

- Applicants MUST have a Certificate III in Aged Care
- Excellent communication skills and genuine customer service
- The right to work in Australia
- Previous experience as a support worker in the Aged Care and/or Disability Sector
- Current First Aid Certificate
- CPR/BLS Certificate
- Manual Handling Certificate
- National Criminal Clearance Check conducted within the last 3 months
- NDIS Worker Screening (if working with NDIS participants)
- Evidence of Flu and COVID vaccinations
- Current Australian Drivers Licence and a reliable, comprehensively insured motor vehicle
- Owns reliable smartphone

We currently have multiple positions available for Support Workers who are passionate about providing high quality care to our aged care clients across Newcastle and Hunter regions.

**Hourly rate**: $36-$39/hr, based on experience and qualifications. Penalty rates also apply. Pay rates are regularly reviewed to ensure fairness and satisfaction is maintained.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $36.00 - $39.00 per hour

**Benefits**:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift

Supplemental pay types:
