**Job Description**:
At BlueScope, we create and inspire smart solutions in steel, strengthening our communities and helping build a better future. Our steel has shaped everything from hospitals and schools, bridges and stadiums to fences and homes - influencing the way we live and work, now and in the future.

**The Opportunity**

Come and discover the opportunity to join our operations team at our **Western Port** Manufacturing facility as the **Maintenance Manager** for our Paint Lines and Customer Service Centre (CSC). As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have five major manufacturing departments at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

At Western Port, we’ve got the largest single Colorbond® steel producing facility - and a significant pipeline of capital improvements, digitisation, and breakthrough projects. Plus, our Customer Service Centre is continuing its evolution towards providing enhanced customer experience and outcomes.

Our Maintenance Managers work collaboratively with the Engineering and Operations departments to ensure our assets are performing reliably and cost effectively, strengthening our ability to safely achieve the manufacturing plan.

You’ll have the opportunity to lead an experienced and knowledgeable maintenance team who work across manufacturing and warehousing environments. Your guidance and support will continue to enable successful delivery of our maintenance priorities across safety and environment, people and leadership, customer satisfaction, maintenance strategy & planning, and manufacturing excellence.

**What Will You Do?**

You won’t achieve all this on your own. Working closely with Operations and other teams onsite, you will:

- ** foster a high-performing culture**:coach and motivate your team of mechanical, electrical and trades specialists - maintaining team engagement, capability, and performance levels
- ** focus on talent development and succession**:identify current and future capability needs, arranging suitable training and knowledge development solutions
- ** set objectives and operating standards**:establish and communicate clear work objectives and standards that enable valued service delivery to the business
- ** provide expert support**:provide timely maintenance advice and solutions including recommending improvement opportunities and participating in Capex projects
- ** drive best practice**: lead, educate and influence the business in the adoption of maintenance and manufacturing excellence practices
- ** oversee governance and reporting**: ensure effective safety, reporting and compliance processes and systems are in place to meet our requirements

**More About You**

You have exposure to working within a manufacturing or heavy industry environment. Your dedication to safety combined with an ability to lead, motivate and develop others will support your success in this role.

You will also bring:

- tertiary engineering qualification or extensive trades maintenance experience
- good communication and influencing skills to deliver outcomes through others
- demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. Maintenance Management Systems, Maintenance Strategies and Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- a proven ability to make decisions with consideration to business commercial interests
- a natural curiosity to keep learning about advancements in maintenance practices and technologies

**The BlueScope Difference**

A career at BlueScope provides the opportunity to make a difference - to you, to your team, to our customers, to transforming products, processes and brands, and to an organisation intent on shaping a better built environment for all our communities. At BlueScope, you will:

- ** make an impact** both within the organisation and in the broader community
- ** create and deliver** innovative products and solutions that shape the world we live in
- grow on a path of **continuous learning and development**:

- ** enjoy the sense of belonging** that comes from working with people who genuinely look out for one another

We’re dedicated to supporting our people - keeping one-another safe, rewarding successes, and helping individuals grow. We foster workplace flexibility and an inclusive work environment that welcomes people of all backgrounds. We’re committed to climate action and to helping shape a better future for all our communities; we are committed to Our Purpose, **Creating Strength.**

**Together we can make a world of difference.
