We are looking for dedicated Cleaners / Food Services Assistants to join our Residential Care team at Onkaparinga Lodge.

**About the role**

You will be required to work as part of a cohesive team by undertaking either general cleaning and/or catering duties for the provision of high quality catering and housekeeping services, which is vital to the health and well-being of our residents, visitors and staff.

Daily duties in these roles include but are not limited to;
- dusting and polishing of furniture, mopping, sweeping and vacuuming of floors
- cleaning bathrooms and toilets and removal of rubbish
- listening with empathy to residents and their representatives about cleaning
requests and reporting to the Supervisor any requests that cannot be immediately actioned
- working positively and collaboratively with other staff to provide person centred safe and effective cleaning services and supports
- assisting in the preparation, cooking, distribution and serving of all types of meals principally for residents but also for visitors, staff and for functions
- observing food safety, HACCP, quality and hygiene standards as well as adhering to SCC policies and procedures
- maintaining accurate relevant catering records including the monitoring
and recording of food temperatures
- reporting any feedback from residents’ on their satisfaction or otherwise
for meals provided

**About you**

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
- Previous cleaning experience in a commercial role
- Sound manual handling skills
- Previous experience in a food handling role
- Sound best practice food handling skills as appropriate to the role
- Adequate communication skills and a good level of English literacy
- The ability to read written instructions and speak in a manner that older people can understand
- Excellent time management skills to manage your workload without direct supervision in order to complete tasks within the allocated time
- A good understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours
- A basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as are applicable to the role
