**YOUR OPPORTUNITY**
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced **Purchasing & Expediting** **Officer **to join our high performing team based out of **Greystanes NSW**.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for facilitating the purchasing of stock to deliver and ensure stock availability to our network of branches and distribution centres, ensuring timely customer experience with a focus on minimising operational costs and exposure to our network.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Review and execute replenishment plans to meet projected forecast requirements and committed customer orders
- Build, review and approve supplier purchase orders, considering containerisation opportunities
- Review and approve transfer orders between branches and DCs
- Review and approve inventory balancing opportunities between branches and DCs
- Review and approve inventory balancing opportunities between DCs
- Review and approve buy-ins and urgent purchase requirements
- Work with vendors and category team to obtain Better Buy opportunities
- Liaising with suppliers to manage order tracking, expedition and cancellation / deferment
- Conduct excess stock review and action to redistribute stock, defer, redirect or cancel open orders
- Liaise with Branch / Department Managers to review stock targets for each branch
- Review system input parameters such as safety stock overrides, minimum stock presence and other inventory parameters
- Assist with demand planning, identifying opportunities to improve history cleansing and forward forecast review
- Participate in S&OP process and provide inventory and supply perspectives on S&OP initiatives
- Review overdue purchase order report and work towards reducing backlog
- Review backorder report to ensure orders are placed and expedited to support customer demand
- Undertake any other relevant activities as requested by the business from time to time
To be successful, you will have:
- Working / post graduate experience (3-5 years)
- Knowledge of inventory management
- Demonstrate experience in a purchasing and expediting role
- Purchasing system / ERP experience (GAINS and Dynamics preferrable)
- Knowledge of demand planning tools and processes
- Collaboration skills to resolve understocked and overstocked inventory positions
- Data analytics
- Microsoft Excel and Access (Advanced)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
