Sydney, Australia Academic Programs International (API LLC) Full time

The SSC will complete, according to Contractor’s preferred schedule, the following duties:
Academics
- Assist Resident Director in any academic matters that arise during the pre-departure, on-site and post program phases;
- Assist students to navigate the university bureaucracy, as needed;
Accounting
- Submit all original receipts for approved expenses and accounting once a month to the Concur expense reporting system and API US Accounting/Finance department;
- Follow program and all budget guidelines;
- Compile cost information for program pricing purposes, following supervisor’s indications;
- Contractor is responsible for filing their own taxes for any compensation paid by Company.

API policies and procedures
- Follow API policies and procedures as outlined in the API RD Manual and as communicated in other manners.

Health and safety
- Discuss and advise Resident Coordinator/Director about any medical conditions that may affect a student’s behavior or welfare
- Ensure students comply with the host university’s policies, procedures and expectations;
- Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations, sharing incidents with Company;
- Support Resident Coordinator/Director in emergency response, which may entail out of business hours response;
- Refer and accompany participants to doctors as needed;
- Provide emotional or logístical support for participants, including during non-business hours in the event of a student emergency or a local crisis (e.g., earthquake, Weather emergency, etc.);
Housing
- Assist participants with housing move-in;
- Assist participants in resolving housing concerns.

Student life
- Work with Resident Coordinator/Director to prepare for participant arrivals, including hotel reservations, conducting on-site orientation, providing guidelines regarding safety and security for the participants, etc.;
- Share knowledge of host country culture, family structures, and etiquette;
- Maintain open communication with participants regarding adaptation to life in the host city and local environment;
- Act as “cultural coach” for the participants, assisting them in their transition into a new country, while they deal with homesickness, etc.;
- Assist participants in finding outlets of interest in the city (e.g., music or sports groups, etc.);
- Maintain regular hours of availability for the participants and meet with the participants each week. This can be a time for a cultural event or just going for coffee and visiting together (groups of one or more);
- Inform participants of cultural events that are happening in the city, and offer cultural activities at least two times per month (generally during evening hours);
- Organize and lead participants on excursions: 1-2 weekend excursions and 2-3 day trips per semester, according to the program arrangements;
- Send an account of meetings and activities with participants, or any concerns about participants or their activities, periodically to your corresponding Director of Student Services at the Company office and for procedural, policy, or programming concerns.

Pay: $100.00 - $1,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 5 - 15 per week
