**Position Information**:
A full-time (1.0 FTE) teaching position is available at George Bass School from 30th January 2024.

George Bass School is a dynamic school in South West Sydney within the Chipping Norton Schools Network which supports just over 100 students with additional learning needs with a moderate or severe intellectual disability in Kindergarten to Year 12. The school has a diverse and highly engaged community with 92% of students coming from a family with a language background other than English.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Approval to teach infants and/or primary and willingness or experience in teaching students with special education with varying levels of intellectual disability, physical disability and additional needs, including complex health, emotional regulation, and sensory processing disorders.
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum and implement individual learning programs that maximise student engagement, with a strong focus on improving communication skills and functional living skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to support the well-being needs of students from a variety of special needs backgrounds, including those with complex behaviours.Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with colleagues, parents, carers, School Learning and Support officers, support agencies and the wider school community.
- Experience with and/or willingness to co-teach in an innovative learning environment with an emphasis on self-reflection and ongoing professional development.
