At ANZ our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive and to achieve this, we need a talented Regulatory Affairs manager to join our Australia Operational Risk & Compliance team. The Australia Operational Risk & Compliance team sits within Australia Retail & Commercial Risk and provides an active business partnership to embed and manage the ANZ Risk Framework within Australia in a way that meets the division’s strategic objectives.

Risk is a critical function, with highly valued and innovative teams that enable ANZ to deliver its purpose.

This role would suit a person who has worked as a regulator, who has a strong background in dealing with regulators as stakeholders.

What will your day look like
Preparation for a meeting with regulators including providing support to business stakeholders
Work with business stakeholders to respond to request by a regulator for documents or information
Draft correspondence to regulators, seeking input from SMEs, legal and other senior stakeholders
Provide SME guidance to stakeholders on regulator expectations in relation to a specific issue or generally
Review and challenge business actions to address regulator expectations
What will you bring?
Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence/negotiate change using an adaptable influencing style
Able to manage priorities and conflicting issues in a professional/risk-based manner
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated Experience in Compliance Management
Understanding of Compliance, Regulation and Regulators
Knowledge of banking instruments, products, and processes
Prior experience in either working for a regulator or managing regulatory relationships
Prior experience in Operational Risk and Compliance Management Roles
Prior experience with risk management systems
People Leadership
