Position Overview:

Join Hydrostor as a Manager of Regulatory & Government Affairs and become a key player in shaping the future of sustainable energy across Australia and the Asia-Pacific.

Reporting directly to the Director, Regulatory and External Affairs, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating government and industry relations, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory strategy implementation.

This role is integral to our project development activities, opening new markets and fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders.

You will work closely with our development team in Australia and collaborate with teams globally to advance our mission of providing sustainable energy solutions.

Day-to-Day Adventures:Conduct external relations outreach, engaging with government bodies, regulators, industry associations, and other stakeholders to advance Hydrostor A-CAES projects.

Assist in developing and implementing government and regulatory strategies in Australia and potential Asia-Pacific markets.
Collaborate with internal teams to align regulatory initiatives with project development and commercial objectives.
Monitor regulatory and policy environment and coordinate regulatory submissions to support project development.
Liaise with the External Communications team to implement communication strategies.
Coordinate with the North American-based policy and regulatory team to ensure consistency in advocacy objectives.
Handle ad hoc requests and other duties as assigned.

Candidate/Employee Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual with a proactive attitude and strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, accountability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Critical thinking, good judgment, and excellent communication skills are essential. Experience in regulatory/government affairs within the electric power/renewable energy sector, along with media and public relations skills, is required. The successful candidate will be adaptable, able to navigate ambiguity and excel in relationship management.

What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree (business/economics, political science, or policy preferred);5+ years of government and regulatory affairs experience in the power sector.
Background, network, and knowledge of regulatory frameworks within Australia.
Demonstrated ability to establish and influence legislative, program, and policy outcomes, including crafting regulatory submissions.
Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, collaborate across internal functions and communicate effectively.
Effective at building formal and informal relationships inside and outside the organisation.
Desire to contribute to a high-growth company with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proactive, independent thinker with a strong work ethic.
Team player capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
